Destination Management Services, Inc. was established in late 1986 as an 'up market' professionally run destination management company whose staff provide a level of experience and expertise in the tourism industry virtually unmatched in Barbados. DMS is dedicated to providing the tour operator with quality service, and efficient, cost-effective program operation and management.

DMS is structured as a multilevel organization handling both individual FIT travelers for major wholesale travel companies and sophisticated corporate meetings and incentive programs. The combined resources of these two divisions allows us to offer all of our clients the most comprehensive range of professional services available in Barbados. The company has a strong stable financial base, an excellent relationship with both political parties in Barbados; a well developed plan for growth and a dedicated, experienced management team.

Michelle Jones, Owner and Managing Director

Michelle brings with her the background and expertise gained in seventeen years of 'hands-on' experience. Michelle is a true perfectionist, attention to detail has been the hallmark of DMS' operation and Michelle understands the need of the travel planner and tour operator; the requirements for unique and effective programs;; and the value of superior service, experienced staff and a professional approach to travel program management.

Sonja Leach, Operations Manager

Sonja Leach, office manager, was born and raised in Barbados. Ms. Leach has been involved in the tourism industry in Barbados since 1987, working in the wholesale and tour operator department of DMS. She is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, scheduling transportation, staff, and organizing all client activities. Sonja has successfully combined her career and her love of Barbados to create a first class destination management company. Sonja has 15 years of Hotel and Travel experience on the Island of Barbados. She is a graduate of the University of Alaska.

Staff:

The key to any successful organization lies in good staff...and DMS' handpicked team is one of the best in Barbados. Currently, the company employs two full-time staff members and four part-time people on a regular basis. All are highly experienced professionals. In fact two of our employees have won awards from the Ministry of Tourism for outstanding service.

The DMS staff is comprised of multinational personnel - all now permanently resident in Barbados, and their combined experience in the tourism industry totals over 40 years! Unique talents include fluency in French, German, Spanish and even Japanese!

As of September 1 st , 2001, DMS has administrative operations at #9 Golf View Terrace, Rockley in Christ Church.

These facilities provide a spacious modern working environment and the latest in automated capability. A computer network system offers multi-user reservations ability, and the specially designed "ground services" software program enables DMS to track and record every passenger's arrival/departure date, flight, and hotel information and transfer statistics. Fully computerized accounting services provide DMS with up to the minute detail and prompt billing/final reconciliation ability. These comprehensive computer facilities have allowed DMS to expand their full range of services to clients.
