SIGHTSEEING

CIRCLE ISLAND TOUR: (minimum 4 people)

•  Including lunch (5 1/2 hours)

USD $ 65.00 per person

•  Without lunch (4 hours)

USD $ 45.00 per person

A 'customized' tour of the island covering the historic and scenic highlights of Barbados. To begin, travel in air-conditioned comfort up the Gold Coast of Barbados to Speightstown. Then cross inland to Harrison's Caves, where electric trams take you deep under the ground to view centuries old stalagmites and stalactities.

After your tour, journey down the hills of St. Andrew into scenic St. Joseph, along the east coast highway through Cattlewash and beautiful Bathsheba with its pounding Atlantic surf and rolling hillsides. Our lunch stop is at the quaint Edgewater Hotel in Bathsheba. This hotel was built in 1947 and is overlooking the world-famous 'soup bowl' surfing site.

After lunch, visit the St. John's Parish Church, which boasts the tomb of the last descendant of the Emperor of Constantinople who died in Barbados in 1678. Pass through banana plantations and sugar cane fields on your way to Sunbury Plantation House. Newly refurbished after a fire in 1995, Sunbury is a testament to the days when sugar was king and the Planter's enjoyed a lavish lifestyle. The entire Great House is open for viewing and there is also a museum containing many interesting items of Barbadian history. Enjoy a cool drink in the Fountain Courtyard and imagine the days of old.

From Sunbury, the tour takes you through the fishing village of Oistins and along the south coast of the island and to the nation's capital, Bridgetown, where the historic Parliament Buildings and Trafalgar Square dominate the city center. Applicable entrance fees, buffet lunch (on luncheon tour) and guide service are included.
