BARBADOS WEDDING INFORMATION:

Book your trip to Barbados and make sure to bring:

  • Valid accepted proof of citizenship
  • If either party has been divorced or widowed - original or certified copies of former marriage certificate, divorce decrees and/or death certificates are required.

The documents required for each couple to obtain the Barbados marriage license are valid
passports or an original or certified copy of your birth certificates. If either party was
previously married and widowed, a certified copy of the marriage certificate and death
certificate in respect of the deceased spouse. If either party was divorced, an original
Decree Absolute or certified copy of the Final Judgment, not the Decree Nisi.

NB: All documents (not in English) must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Various ceremony locations are available around the island ranging from luxury hotels
with tropical gardens to a 350-year-old plantation Great House with a fountain courtyard.

Please ask for suggestions and rates. (Transportation to the wedding venue is priced
separately once the location is finalized and rates vary according to distance and time).

Contact our Wedding Coordinator and arrange all the details of your Barbados wedding. She'll help plan the date, time, location and all the special features you want for your special day.

For cruise passengers, we usually use a hotel on the south coast that has lovely tropical
gardens and a long white sandy beach. Once you have completed the paperwork for your
Marriage License, the ceremony can take place immediately afterwards or you can
schedule it for later in the day depending on your preference. You will be given a
temporary license after the ceremony and the official stamped copy will be sent to you
via registered mail.

We use a number of Ministers from several denominations, Anglican, Moravian, Pentecostal - the ceremony is a Christian ceremony. A Magistrate or Justice of the Peace can be arranged for $60.00 US extra.

Wedding ceremonies performed in the Catholic Church are an additional $140.00 US and require several months’ notice to allow for correspondence between your Diocese and the local Diocese.

All other wedding services arranged on request and can be added according to your
requirements:

Limousine services are$150.00 US per hour

Music:

Your special moment should be nothing less that what you expected. Time and time again, couples have enjoyed the magical ambience created by our talented musicians. Playing a well recognized repertoire of contemporary songs with Caribbean flair, our man steelband will ensure your ceremony has a true island feeling. We also offer other types of music if you have something else in mind.
  • One man steel pan player $275.00 US per hour
  • One man guitarist/singer $275.00 US per hour
Beauty Services:

In the comfort and privacy of your hotel room, the manicurist, hairdresser and makeup service professionals will make sure you look and feel your very best. This service is not available to couples arriving by cruise ship.

Ceremonial Rituals:

You may personalize your ceremony with these simple touches.

Unity Candle Ceremony ~ The lighting of a single candle is an outward sign of the joining of your separate lives in the union of matrimony.

Gift of Rose ~ In the old language of flowers, a single red rose means "I Love You". This simple yet meaningful exchange of roses gives recognition to the gift of love that you have bestowed on each other.

The Sand Ceremony ~ This ancient tradition highlights the coming together of two individuals to create an inseparable eternal union.

Please let us know in advance if there are any other special traditions that you wish to incorporate into the ceremony as these ceremonial rituals must be pre-approved by the officiant .

Two Dove Release:

The release of these tame doves symbolise the love, fidelity and union of the marital union.

Please do not hesitate to mention any other special request that you may desire that we have not listed above.
